Pure Nyanga Fruits!

Our wine starts with fruits grown locally in the generally cooler, more elevated Nyanga region such as plumblackberryapple and tamarillo or tree tomato (known locally as ‘sagaraga’). We make wine from mazhanje (the larger ‘chirungu’ variety), guava, and from elderflower grown on the estate.

We do not add chemicals to our wine so no sulphates or fining agents (chemicals used industrially to make grape wine clear). All we do add is: yeast, sugar and water, to make a delicious, sweet, quite alcoholic wine in the 13% to 17% range – check the label!

Blackberries in a bucket - from our 2022 harvest

Many of our fruits are sourced from local orchards and small holdings where we know the seller and know that his or her fruits are ripe and freshly picked.

Our wines are generally clear. We make them naturally and do not industrially filter them so some cloudiness or settling of sediment may occur in the bottle – especially with our naturally sparking wines where we use yeast to add the bubbles. This does not affect our drinking enjoyment!
